Care Guide
Roamello carries formal and evening dresses that combine delicate fabrics with hand-applied embellishments. Because materials, construction, and decorative elements vary from piece to piece, the care label sewn into each garment and the instructions listed on its product page always take priority over the general guidance below. Use this page to understand what to look for on your specific item and how to handle common situations between wears.
Know Your Garment's Components
Before any cleaning or storage step, identify what your dress is made of and what details it carries. Roamello's evening pieces may include one or more of the following:
- Embellishments: beadwork along plackets or necklines, linear sequins, crystalline motifs, feather trim, or tassel hardware on coordinating belts.
- Fabric types: structured jacquard weaves, sheer mesh-tulle overlays, fine pleated chiffon, smooth satin-finish bodice fabric, or medium-weight stretch knit.
- Structural elements: concealed back zippers, elastic ruffled cuffs, keyhole tie necklines, integrated neck-scarf cape overlays, or detachable belts.
Each component may respond differently to moisture, friction, or pressure. Treat embellished areas separately from plain fabric when spot-cleaning or storing.
After an Event: Immediate Steps
Once you return home, give the garment a quick inspection before putting it away:
- Hang the dress on a padded hanger in a well-ventilated area for a few hours to release body warmth and any light odors.
- Check beadwork, sequin rows, and feather accents for loose threads or displaced pieces. Do not pull on any embellishment that feels raised or detached.
- Examine the zipper track and any tie closures for caught fabric or stress.
- If a small area of plain fabric (away from embellishments) has a minor spot, blot gently with a clean, slightly damp cloth. Do not rub, and do not apply any cleaning solution to beaded, sequined, or feathered sections.
If a stain persists after light blotting, or if the affected area includes embellishments, stop and move to the professional-care section below rather than escalating at home.
Storing Between Wears
Formal dresses with dimensional details are vulnerable to crushing, snagging, and moisture during storage:
- Use a padded or wide-shoulder hanger to preserve the bodice shape and prevent shoulder creases.
- Keep the garment in a breathable cotton garment bag rather than sealed plastic, which can trap humidity against delicate fabrics.
- Ensure embellished sections are not pressed against the bag walls or folded over themselves. If a cape overlay or long train exists, let it hang freely without being tucked.
- Avoid storing in direct sunlight or near heat sources, as prolonged exposure can affect the appearance of printed overlays and fabric sheen.
- Do not stack heavy items on top of a hanging dress.
When to Seek Professional Help
Consider a qualified garment cleaner or embellishment specialist rather than continuing at home when:
- Beadwork, sequins, or crystal motifs are loose, missing, or visibly damaged.
- A stain has set into the fabric and cannot be addressed by gentle blotting on a non-embellished area.
- The garment's structure is compromised (a torn seam, a broken zipper, a displaced pleat panel, or a detached cape).
- The care label is missing, illegible, or does not cover the situation you are facing.
When you bring a dress to a professional, point out any embellished zones and ask them to confirm their approach before treatment begins.
